Congratulations students Faculty Natural Sciences – fellows of the Institute of Oriental Studies Foundation!

On December 11, a solemn ceremony for awarding this year’s scholarships of the Foundation for Oriental Studies (Warsaw) took place in the exhibition hall of the Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University. This year, 15 bachelor’s and 2 master’s students received scholarships in the amount of 1,000 US dollars (in hryvnia equivalent).

Among the winners were our students:

– Yuriy Makoyda (4th year student majoring in Biochemistry)

– Khristina Fediv (1st year master’s student majoring in Biochemistry)

– Anton Karbivskyi (4th year student majoring in Agronomy)

During the event, students had the opportunity to communicate with the founder of the Foundation, Zygmunt Berdychovsky, in an online inclusion format, as well as participate in the official award ceremony.

The rector of the university, Valentyna Yakubiv, congratulated the students:

“Our dear students, esteemed scholarship holders! It is extremely gratifying to see your professional growth — from first-year and second-year students to highly qualified specialists who remain in Ukraine and continue their journey within the walls of our university.”

I would like to sincerely thank Mr. Zygmunt Berdykhovsky for his many years of support for our best students. What is especially valuable is that this support is not only maintained, but also constantly strengthened. This year, a new scholarship program was launched for applicants with the highest scores – and this is truly very important for us. We want every talented student to know: in Ukraine, at the Carpathian National University, there are unique opportunities for development. Scholarships give you not only material rewards, but also a chance to invest in your own future, in your professional and personal growth. This is clear proof that there is room for development, growth, and self-realization in our country.

I would like to thank Igor Yevgenovich for initiating this cooperation with the University of Warsaw and the Foundation for Oriental Studies. It is thanks to these long-standing partnerships that we have the opportunity to implement such important programs.

“Remember that when you leave the walls of our university, there will always be people here who are glad to see you, who supported you and contributed to your development. We will always be proud of your achievements and will be sincerely happy if you continue to develop these opportunities and become even better in the future.”

Zygmund Berdychovsky also congratulated the students and wished them continued development, courage in implementing their ideas, and faith in the fact that their work makes Ukraine stronger.

The Chairman of the University’s Academic Council, Ihor Tsependa, noted:

“Today is a special event for all of us. After all, this is not just a monetary reward. First of all, it is a high assessment of your work. Work that consists not only in your success and outstanding results in studies, but also in your ability to feel the needs of others and sincerely help those who need it. Many of your projects are dedicated to what is especially important for Ukraine today on its path to the European community. This is great social work — selfless, daily and open-hearted. This is what makes you stand out among others.

We are glad that the scholarship club, created thanks to Mr. Zygmund Berdykhovsky, already unites over a hundred young and successful Ukrainians. We want you to remain united and support each other, because it is you who form the core that expands and strengthens initiatives that are useful for Ukraine.

I wish that this scholarship will become for you not only the result of a certain stage, but above all an incentive for further development. We sincerely rejoice in your successes and will always be by your side, watching for new achievements that certainly await you ahead. And again I want to emphasize the most important thing: your knowledge should always be combined with values. You are young people who understand that it is values that shape personality and society. And this makes you a real pillar of the future of Ukraine.

After the award ceremony, a meeting with Mr. Zygmunt Berdychovsky took place in an online format, as well as a raffle of gifts – modern tablets, smart watches, external hard drives, and gift certificates to bookstores and sports stores.
